02 · Capri
From the sea, Capri is another island: quieter, bluer, far from the crowds of the Piazzetta.

The story

We cross the gulf past Li Galli, the islands of the sirens, and Punta Campanella. In about an hour we're beneath the cliffs of Capri.
We sail all the way around the island: the White and Coral Grottoes, the Faraglioni with the arch you pass through by boat, then the Green Grotto and the Grotto of the Heart. The Blue Grotto is there, but it's almost always extremely crowded: if you'd like to try, just tell me straight away; otherwise I'll take you to bays only those who sail here know. Along the way I'll suggest the best spots for swimming and snorkelling.

For lunch, to be honest, I don't recommend Capri. Value for money isn't always the best, especially at the busiest times. Instead I recommend Nerano, on the Sorrento peninsula: a charming seaside village famous for its cuisine and excellent restaurants. It's one of my favourite places in the area for a relaxed lunch by the sea.
Then we continue our itinerary and, weather permitting, make one last stop for a swim on the way back.
The route
This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed route.
Boarding from your town (for example Amalfi) and about an hour's sail to Capri.
A stop off Positano in the marine protected area: the first swim of the day.
The island's first grottoes, beneath the rocky cliffs.
Passing through the rock arch, Capri's most famous spot.
The Green Grotto, the Grotto of the Heart and (if you really want it) the Blue Grotto, almost always very crowded.
I stop wherever the water is best: I'll suggest the spots based on the day's sea.
Seaside restaurants on the Sorrento peninsula: better than Capri, quieter and tastier.
We head back towards the Coast and, time permitting, stop for one last swim.
Send me your dates: I'll reply personally within 24 hours.
